Start with the task you need

Find a property record

Use owner, address, real property, advanced, personal property or map search.

Copy alternate key

Use it for address change, office calls, tax bill lookup and VAB notes.

Check map context

Useful for rural land, acreage, mobile homes, waterfront and unclear addresses.

File homestead

Check ownership first, especially if you recently closed on the property.

Pay tax bill

Tax bill and payment questions go to the Citrus County Tax Collector.

Dispute value

Review TRIM, call the appraiser first, then file VAB if unresolved.

Office routing: Property Appraiser handles ownership record, assessed value, exemptions, parcel maps and TRIM questions. Tax Collector handles bill, payment, discounts, receipt and delinquency. Clerk/VAB handles formal petitions.

Citrus County Property Appraiser search disclaimer and parcel search screen
Screenshot reference from the existing post. It helps users recognize the official Citrus County property search disclaimer and parcel search area.
Open the official search. Use the Citrus County Property Appraiser search page.
Accept the data disclaimer. The search page says the data is public information used for creating a property tax roll, and confidential accounts may be excluded.
Pick the right search type. Use Owner Search, Address Search, Real Property, Advanced, Personal Property or Map Search depending on your need.
Search with less text first. Try last name only, house number plus street name, or alternate key. Avoid punctuation and extra address words.
Verify before trusting the result. Match owner, situs address, mailing address, alternate key, parcel ID, property use, sales and map location.
Save the key details. Screenshot or copy the alternate key, parcel ID and property card before filing homestead, address change or VAB.
Local tip: for rural land, acreage, mobile homes, vacant land or property without a clean street address, Map Search or Advanced Search may work better than address search.

Open official Map Search. Use Citrus County Map Search.
Use parcel or alternate key. This is better for rural land, vacant parcels, mobile homes and acreage.
Check parcel shape and access. Review roads, nearby parcels, water, subdivisions, acreage and surrounding land use.
Use county GIS for extra layers. Citrus County GIS viewer includes tools and map layers such as address lookup, parcels, permits and land-use/zoning resources.
Verify critical details elsewhere. Boundary, easement, flood, wetlands, setback, fence and construction questions need survey/title/permit review.
Rural land warning: for acreage, pasture, timber, mobile-home lots or waterfront property, check access, zoning, flood, wetlands, easements, permits and survey details before buying.

Official basics: Citrus County says homestead may provide up to $50,000 in exemption. You generally must own real property in Citrus County on January 1, make it your permanent residence and file with required documents.

Check ownership first. Confirm your deed/ownership update appears before e-filing.
Open e-file. Use Citrus Homestead E-File.
Confirm January 1 status. You should own and occupy the property as permanent residence as of January 1 for that tax year.

Enter new address exactly. Include mailing address, city, state and ZIP as it should appear on notices.
